About the event
Learning about fractions is no easy feat for children. Too often, children are given rules for calculating with fractions with no meaning. This robs children of the opportunity to approach the whole concept of fractions and can even lead to misconceptions and fragile understandings. In this presentation I will demonstrate how to use a new resource known as the Linear Abacus™, to help children learn about fraction concepts such as, numeration, comparison and equivalence.
