DESCRIPTION

For early years and lower primary teachers, the 30-bead string is often the right starting point. Thirty beads is exactly what a Foundation or Year 1 child needs to see — manageable, focused, and not overwhelming. This magnetic version brings that same clarity to the front of the classroom.

The Teacher Magnetic 30-Bead Linear Abacus® attaches directly to any magnetic whiteboard, holding flat and steady while you model counting, grouping, early place value, and the first building blocks of number sense — with every child in the room able to see exactly what you’re doing.

Each bead is 1cm cubed with one magnetic face, sitting on a 70cm faux leather string. Compact enough to work up close in small group sessions, clear enough to demonstrate from the front of the room.

Where teachers are using it:

Whole class explicit teaching in Foundation to Year 3 — model early number, counting, grouping, and place value with complete visibility. Small group sessions — bring it to the table and work through concepts with a handful of students who need more support. One-to-one maths conferences — model and assess a student’s reasoning in real time, showing them exactly what you mean. Reflection time — display key findings at the end of a lesson and make the mathematical structure visible for discussion.

When your class is ready to extend beyond 30 — into larger place value, measurement, and operations — the Teacher Magnetic 100-Bead string is the natural next step.

Each string comes in its own fabric pouch.
